4 months ago I got a client with a new website. But I needed to correct everything: - Copy. - Desing. - Colors. The previous agency forgot to match the messaging, design, and colors to their brand on social media. This is a common mistake I see and the quickest way to lose trust when visitors come from social media. Instead, have a cohesive digital experience. - Same colors. - Same branding. - Same messaging. - Similar copy and tone. Same, same, same. If you want to convert visitors into customers or clients, you need to think about the buyer's journey. Think of where you get traffic from. If it's mainly from social media, then make sure that your website is aligned with social accounts. Make everything aligned. This way you won't lose them in 1 sec after they visit your wesbite, but you will gain even more trust. Without trust, there are no conversions. Do you have your wesbite aligned with social media?

Since 2019 I've built 43+ websites for clients. Here are 7 lessons I've learned: 1) Having 10 CTAs, 5 sliders, and 3 pop-ups in your face creates a poor experience. They become confused and they won't convert. 2) On the opposite side, having low or no CTAs is losing companies money big time. Stick to a few CTAs, preferably to one. 3) Not caring about readability is like shooting yourself in the foot. All the content needs to be easy to grasp. Don't mix too many fonts together. 4) A beautiful design not suitable for the right client is a big missed opportunity. Each design needs to be tailored to each specific client (business). 5) Thinking good design will fix bad copy is losing money. Design or colors can't fix wrong messaging, unclear copy, or lack of persuasion. 6) Not using social proof elements is just like not wanting to be trusted. Put social proof on your website because people check that before they buy. 7) Having a slow website will cause a massive drop off of your wesbite. They will leave before you give them a chance to buy. Make sure it is fast. 80% of the websites out there have at least a few crucial mistakes I mentioned above. Don't use generic CTA buttons on your website: • Learn more. • Get started. • Sign up today. Be more creative and always frame it in a way that shows the benefit (or the outcome) to a visitor. Make it personal. ''Apply and get (desired outcome)''. That's one thing I have in mind when creating websites. I like to pair animations and value-driven CTA on the buttons because it increases the conversion rate. Avoid being too generic. The generic design brings generic results. ✌️ What's your main CTA on your website?

I don't start building a website by building it. I start with an interview. Here's how: The first thing I do whenever I start working with a client is 2 hours long interview. I ask a bunch of questions about: • Their goals. • Their industry. • Their processes. • Their ideal customer persona. We craft a value proposition together (it is hard to sell without it even if the design is good). Then I propose a sales strategy based on that. Once we are clear I start with a wireframe to visualize everything before designing the website. The point is: You need to have the right fundamentals before you start building it because if you have no clarity, then there will be just a website without a purpose. Design and copy come later. I was asked: Do I need a website? Here's my honest answer: If you are someone starting out or you are early in the business, then don't spend big $ on the website. You can create a landing page with free page builders. The focus should be on getting first clients in. Once you have clients (and you're clear your business works) then invest so you can get positive ROI. A website is a tool that makes client acquisition easier, but first your business needs to work. That was a conversation I had with a prospect. We figured out they don't need a website for now. I advise against it because I am not interested in selling a web design to someone who doesn't need it. Don't listen to everyone trying to convince you. Know where you are in your journey. Animations on the website are distractions. If they are not used right. The point of animations is to make people take action on what you want them to do next. - Click on the CTA button. - Sign up to the email list. - Fill out the contact form. Or whatever it might be for you. If you put animations on things that don't matter, then they will distract the visitors from taking action. I like to put animations on specific elements. Like CTA for example. This way you make sure that important parts stand out and grab their attention from the start. Use animations because they are powerful. But use them right. 🤝 P.S. People like clarity. Your website needs to be clear. One way to achieve that is by limiting the number of fonts you have on your website. I see many websites with multiple fonts. Not the best. People don't grasp information as fast as they can because shifting attention requires their energy. And the website looks unprofessional too. Instead, stick to 3 fonts at max. You'll be perceived as more professional. You'll make sure your content is easy to read, easy to follow, and enhance the user experience. Make it easy for them. If it's easy and clear, they will stay. If the copy and design are good, they will convert. This is what you want. 🫡 Stick to 3 fonts at maximum. P.S. When I started web design I made a mistake most do: I accepted everything. Good fit, bad fit, what I liked, and what I didn't like. I ended up taking too much work leaving me in a constant grind and worries. In the past year, I changed the approach. I learned my lessons. If the business model, industry they are in or a person isn't a great fit, I say no. As much as I want to help everyone, I can't. I make sure I say YES to those I can. Happy weekend. ✌️

How I work with clients (without wasting their time): Simple. Clients are busy with their businesses so I try to adapt my process of building a website to their needs. 1) Loom videos. Instead of hopping on calls, I record videos with explanations so clients can watch whenever they can. I don't want to waste their time. 2) Collaboration. I see the process of building a website as a collaboration, not a one-way street. I listen, they listen, then I build. 3) Clients are experts in their niche. I try to learn as much as I can from them about their industry, ideal customer persona, and their goals. Then I tailor the website to that. 4) Client involvement. I learned that some clients want more involvement than others and I adapt to their wishes. The goal is to make it the best it can be for them. 5) Progress tracking. I share progress in real-time and allow them to comment on any part for feedback and collab. This has been working well. That's it.
