On Friday, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda unveiled to the public the logo of the NATO Summit to be held in Vilnius in July this year.

The main element of the logo is a stylised Vytis of Lithuania’s coat of arms.

According to the president, Vytis has historically accompanied the Lithuanian nation as it was also the symbol of the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Republic of Lithuania during the inter-war period.

Nausėda noted that it was symbolic that with Russia’s war in Ukraine, the NATO Summit will be held in Vilnius.

“In July this year, the leaders of all NATO countries will be in Lithuania. I hope that we will also see President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine here. This is a strong message to the aggressor in our neighbourhood that we are united,” he said.
