Legendary football player Tom Brady of the Tampa Buccaneers—and previously the New England Patriots—announced his retirement from the sport after 22 seasons in the NFL, and the accolades are rolling in, even from his ex. Actor Bridget Moynahan dedicated a sweet post on her Instagram grid to him on Tuesday, February 2.

Moynahan shared a photo of Brady in his Buccaneers uniform—the same picture Brady posted to announce his retirement on his own feed. In the caption Moynahan wrote, “So proud of @tombrady. Yesterday and today and I know you will do great things tomorrow. Looking forward to the next steps.”

Moynahan, who stars on CBS's drama Blue Bloods and was recently seen on the Sex and the City spin-off, And Just Like That…, dated Brady from 2004 to 2006. The former couple has a son together, Jack, who is now 14. Per People, Moynahan announced the pregnancy in 2007 after their split.

Brady announced his retirement with a statement shared on Monday, February 1. “This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore,” Brady said in the statement. “I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.”

“My playing career has been such a thrilling ride, and far beyond my imagination, and full of ups and downs,” he continued. “When you're in it every day, you really don't think about any kind of ending. As I sit here now, however, I think of all the great players and coaches I was privileged to play with and against—the competition was fierce and deep, JUST HOW WE LIKE IT. But the friendships and relationships are just as fierce and deep. I will remember and cherish these memories and re-visit them often. I feel like the luckiest person in the world.”
