Rock Hyrax (Procavia capensis)

They like to hang out in granitic rock outcroppings (koppies) where they can easily escape from predators by hiding in rock cracks. A rather small rodent-like animal, they are said to be closer to elephants based on genetics and some obscure physical features which they share. This is the nominate subspecies "P. c. capensis" AKA "Cape Rock Hyrax," native to South Africa and Namibia and characterized by a black dorsal patch.
Location
Namibgrens Klipspringer Villas, Namibia.

YES these elephants relatives are quite attractive. i grew up to see them in the rocks of the mountain where my school was in Mecca. they use to be so afraid of black kite when the soar around during winter time.
