Windmill palms are very nice cold-hardy trees that originate from China. They grow from 25 to 40 feet tall with dark green leaves that get up to 3 feet wide and 2.5 feet long. They like full sun, regular watering in well-draining soil but can withstand moderate periods of drought, not too picky about ph and cold hardy down to 5 degrees F. Will definitely add a tropical feel to not-so-tropical places!
