#WCW: Victoria Beckham

She's giving you everything, all that joy can bring, this she swears.
#WCW: Victoria Beckham

New York Fashion Week is upon us, and the show we’re the most excited about is unquestionably Victoria Beckham. It’s not just that we’re massive Spice Girls fans (although we are), and it’s not just that we have a crush on her husband (although we do)—the Spice formerly known as Posh is an incredibly talented designer, a hilarious and insightful writer and all-around amazing human. Oh, and she’s also rocking some really great Fall bangs right now.

So of course we had to honor Victoria as this week’s official Woman Crush Wednesday the only way we know how—by taking a look back at her best and boldest beauty choices throughout the years. And trust us: her beauty transformation is truly one for the ages. Viva Forever!

Back in 1997, Posh Spice was serving the look that every teenage girl wanted to emulate: shimmery copper lipstick with dark liner, matte skin and perfectly shiny, flipped-out hair.

By the end of 1997, the Spice Girls were a worldwide phenomenon—and the girls’ personas had become more defined. Victoria’s sleek, dark hair and affinity for tight dresses was her character’s calling card; we especially loved her smoky purple eyeshadow and long, burgundy nails.

Victoria and superstar soccer player David Beckham were married in 1998; by 2001, they had both been through many different hairstyles. Bonus points awarded for Vic’s fearless use of bronzer.

In the early years of their marriage, Victoria was known by the media—quite unkindly—as Queen of the WAGS for her over-the-top, “tacky” style. Her super-tanned skin and long hair extensions became almost as famous as Posh and Becks themselves. Personally, we salute any woman bold enough to wear this much nude lipgloss.

In 2005, Victoria had added some ashy blonde highlights to her long hair, accessorizing it here with lots and lots of body glitter.

And then, in 2006, there was the cut that launched a thousand ships. The “Posh Bob” or “Pob” was long in front and short in the back, tapering back at a sharp, sleek angle. Worn with red lips and highlighted skin, this major image change coincided with her attempts to break into the fashion world: she famously styled Katie Holmes for Harper’s Bazaar and acted as fashion editor for an edition in March, then launched a major denim collection. She was starting to make her fashion mark.

Admit it: this platinum pixie made you immediately want to cut ALL your hair off in 2007. Victoria’s eye makeup began to evolve a little more, too—moving away from the super-smokey black shadow with loads of fake lashes and towards more defined eyeliner.

From Queen of the WAGS to sitting at the front row at Oscar de la Renta’s Fall show in 2008—take that, negative media! At Fashion Week, Victoria showed off the blonde version of the Posh Bob, which she paired with apricot-colored lip gloss. If there’s one thing this woman loves, it’s a neutral lip.

More hair inspiration in 2009—Victoria served this Audrey-esque pixie with dramatic silver and black eye makeup and (what else?) nude lip gloss. Perfection.

By 2012, Victoria was back to rocking long hair again—and with a darker shade and a seriously acclaimed fashion line behind her, no tabloids made fun of her extensions.

A tousled updo and lightly bronzed cheeks complimented her structured gown (and handsome husband) at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party in 2012.

What do we love the most here: Victoria’s smudgy eyes, highlighted skin or impossibly shiny hair? This is a perfect example of how small tweaks—in this case, a slightly warmer hair color and softer eye makeup—can upgrade your entire beauty look without making you no longer look like YOU.

Let us all take a moment to marvel at Victoria’s amazing straight brows. Brushed up, trimmed and defined only slightly with a tinted gel, they frame her face absolutely perfectly.

The low ponytail has become Victoria’s official 2015 hairstyle. Tousled loosely at the crown and worn with shimmery, smoky eyes and nude matte lipstick, this entire look is simple, chic perfection. We love you, Victoria—we can’t wait to see what you do this Fashion Week!
