Red Herring Puppets’ The Friendly Chupacabra / El Chupacabra Amable is the third show in the collection of bilingual folktales based on stories from Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. This anthology of folktales, which includes “The Barking Mouse / El Ratón que Ladra” and “The Blue Frog / La Rana Azul”, is presented in a mixture of English and Spanish, celebrating Latino cultures and the importance of welcoming and learning from each other.  Each story features original music by Diana Olivares and Salma Diaz, from Las Azaleas, an all-girl mariachi band based in Tucson.

The tale of The Friendly Chupacabra unfolds in Puerto Rico, where the strange and fierce Chupacabra elicits fear and wonder — until a brave girl, Ana, and her goat tame the beast with friendship.

Most recommended for Pre-K through 5th grade, but fun for Scamps and Scoundrels of all ages!
