Event Description
Millions have visited the Giant’s Causeway. Surely there is nothing new to discover there? But in 2021 a new theory was announced that explained why the columns descend to sea level only at the Causeway, and overturned an 80-year-old idea that the lava had filled an ancient valley. The evidence is surprisingly obvious, and will be explained in simple terms as part of a broader overview of the volcanic history of the Causeway Coast.
