It was a terrifying moment for two people and a child after their car left the road and crashed into a ditch filled with water.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) said on Friday, January 5, deputies responded to a crash with injuries involving two people and a small child.

Body camera video captures the moment deputies arrived at the harrowing scene.

Deputies shattered the window to get to the woman and child, the little girl's head can be seen briefly in the video.

"The baby's head is barely above water," the deputy said as firefighters with the Palm Coast Fire Department arrived to assist.

Deputies and firefighters worked quickly to pull the alert and conscious child from the car. Once the child was handed off to firefighters and paramedics for evaluation and treatment, crews worked to pull the injured woman from the car.

"You doing good, you're breathing good. Take nice and deep breaths, alright," the firefighter responded to the dazed woman. After some time the woman was pulled from the car. All three were transported to AdventHealth-Palm Coast for treatment and the crash investigation was turned over to Florida Highway Patrol.

“It was a busy weekend in Flagler County,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “I’m proud of the team effort that likely saved a child and woman after a car crash sent their car into a water-filled ditch."
