Pyongyang Street Circuit – Pyongyang

Circuit: Fictitious
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2021 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

The capital of North Korea immediately presented a proposal to have a grand prix on its streets when the F1 Asia continental title was announced.
Thanks to its wide roads and a true interest from the city, I have been able to design a unique 10.6 km track, passing through all most important buildings and monuments.
With permanent pits and paddock in front of the stadium, it is not only a magnificent circuit but also an homage to the country heritage.

When was its first Grand Prix?

The new circuit will be ready for the new F1 in 2023 and will host the first ever GP in the country.

What’s the circuit like?

This masterpiece circuit is nothing like a standard street course; it has five straight of at least 600 meters, plus the final uphill “non-straight”, which really reminds Spa’s Blanchimont.
The first sector is fast, with the first corner looking at the Arch of Triumph, and offers many overtake spots.
The second is a more typical street one, with many 90° turns connecting roads, while the third one is mainly straight, passing through the Workers’ Party of Korea Headquarters and the Grand People’s Study House in Kim Il-sung square.
It’s almost impossible to find a layout more complete than this one, which will test to the limit drivers and engines.

Where is it located? In the heart of the city, north of the river, in the Puksae-Dong and Kyongrim-dong quartiers (39°01’17.0″N 125°45’11.2″E)
