Pierre Garcon injury: Fantasy prospects could remain on hold until Week 11

Pierre Garcon has a torn tendon in his foot, and could remain sidelined through the Washington Redskins' Week 10 bye, Mike Garafolo of USA Today reports. The Redskins hinted publicly that the wide receiver had a slight chance to play Sunday against the New York Giants on Sunday, but privately knew that the injury was much more serious, according to a source close to the team.

Garcon was supposed to be the team's No. 1 wideout, but he has appeared in just three games this season. He has caught three passes for 44 yards and no touchdowns since his big performance in the season opener. An 88-yard touchdown reception in Week 1 accounts for over half of his 153 yards receiving on the season.

Fantasy Impact: According to Garafolo's anonymous source, Garcon could return before the bye, but the more likely timetable has the wideout returning Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Fantasy owners should already have a Plan B in place, but if not, consider this a wake-up call to start working the wires.

Leonard Hankerson was targeted eight times during Sunday's loss, and finished with six receptions for 70 yards. Logan Paulsen led the Redskins with 76 yards on four receptions off six targets, and Santana Moss had two touchdowns among his three receptions for 67 yards off four targets. Any one among that trio could be a very productive fantasy option going forward, though it appears they may impede each other's fantasy value.
